Dear Simone,

My mom used to say “I’m trying to help you.” “I’m trying to save you.” While she was yelling at me while my dad was yelling at me and she would tell me to just listen.

The dad yells at them how my dad used to yell at me.

”I didn’t hit you hard enough.”

Telling ppl don’t ever start smoking.

Hard to hear it or talk about it but when I start there’s no stopping it.

“Do you think you’re worthy?”, he’d ask.

He would start telling me things I didn’t want to hear and when I would start disagreeing, he would tell me to hold on until he finishes talking, forcing me to stay or listen, firmly grip my arm.
