The patients I’ve been helping are 99.9% Caucasian. About 25 mins away from the main cities. None of them ask for the price on anything. The exam is about $210 + $45 for retinal imaging + the frame cost, which ranges from $200 – $1500 + the lenses that are about $200. The average I see spent is $300 – $600 minimum after insurance. Their world is completely different than what I’m used to. They speak of cabin ownership, vacations, owning homes and having insurance. They speak of getting the best medical care..I mean just the simple fact that they don’t need to know the price and still knowing they will be ok with whatever the cost, is crazy to me. Their worries are completely different.

I’ve struggled with being in survival mode most of my life and sharing everything, or not having enough money for wants and needs.

I’ve always wanted that life. I strived for that…alone. Until now. I have my bf and I’ve always had Jeh Nay but not really any friends or family.

I tried a pastry from Herman’s Bakery. It was a blueberry filled with cream cheese frosting, donut. The size of my hand ! You would have loved it.

I really would have wanted us to enjoy our summers at a lake.
